Using Unofficially Supported Controllers

Postby Torcht » Sat Nov 12, 2011 5:36 pm

Unfortunately, Nitronic Rush only officially supports Xbox 360 controllers and the keyboard. If you have any information regarding the use of unofficially supported controllers, such as Logitech controllers, steering wheels, etc. please post that here!

So far, the best answers people have come up with are using programs like:
http://code.google.com/p/x360ce/downloads/list
http://xpadder.com/

You can then remap whatever controller you have to either the keyboard or 360 control schemes.

That first link is kinda old, the whole project now has a Google Code page, with regular updates.

You will have to download the corresponding 32/64 bits Library, which are dlls, but unless in special cases the 32bits it's the one to use. The first exe is a GUI so that you can edit your presents with a graphical interface and not changing number in a textfile

Hey! I'm playing with a PS3 controller.
You need a Motionjoy driver for that though.
Here's a guide how to install it http://www.hardcoreware.net/how-to-play ... s-7-vista/

Hope this helps for my fellow PS3 gamers :D

(its 100% free btw)

I just tried this, and it works wonderfully. Awesome! Thanks! Now I have to relearn the controls though. Because all of a sudden, I'm completely RUBBISH at this game xD

I just downloaded and installed motionjoy and it works great. My computer is recognizing the PS3 remote and it tests fine for all buttons, the joysticks, and even tilt.

My problem is Nitronic Rush won't recognize the controller. Am I missing something? The keyboard responds, but the controller does nothing for the game. I have restarted a few times and switched USB plugs, but the controller is still not doing anything.

Any help would be greatly appreciated because I am very excited to play this game!

Nitronic Rush only uses Xbox 360 controllers natively, so you need to set motionjoy to emulate one.

Tracer Flash Fighter Pad (recognized as PC DUAL TWIN SHOCK) works after installing producers drivers for me.
After one reboot everything works pretty good. Even triggers and bumpers are mapped like in xBox controller.

I experimented with the first link in the OP ("Xbox 360 Controller Emulator") and while it seems like a great program, it only works for this selection of games. Nitronic Rush doesn't appear to be supported.

MotioninJoy works for me because I have a PS3 controller. I don't know whether it will work to map off-brand controllers (like Logitech) to function as 360 controllers, though.
