READ FIRST: Submitting Bugs

Postby Kyle » Tue Nov 29, 2011 7:24 pm

When submitting a bug, please post as much information as you possibly can. We suggest the following format for the posts (thanks electronerd!), just to make it easier to see the information (copy and paste the code into the post reply edit box, and replace the text enclosed in curly braces):

Code: Select all
Description
{description of the problem}

Steps to reproduce

{Step one}

{Step two}

{Step three}

{etc.}
Expected behavior: {What should have happened as a result of following the listed steps}
Actual behavior: {What actually happened}

Additional information
{Any additional information you wish to provide}

Screen shot / video
{screen shot / video}

Tips:
Be as specific as possible in the steps to reproduce. Nitronic Rush is a very complex system, with a lot of things going on "behind the scenes", so details you think are irrelevant may or may not actually be. The expected/actual behavior sections should be skipped only if the general description makes it painfully obvious what the bug is. Even if it is painfully obvious, explicitly writing them down can uncover assumptions that may have been overlooked.

Example:

Description
Nitronic Rush is too fun.

Steps to reproduce
 1. Start Nitronic Rush
 2. Using an Xbox 360 controller, select Story at the main menu, then select No to skip the tutorial.
 3. Allow the cutscene to play.
 4. After the countdown, hold the right trigger and rush toward the finish tunnel

Expected behavior: Game was fun.
Actual behavior: Game was AMAZINGLY fun :D

Additional information
Issue occurs no matter what other programs I have open.

Graphics Bugs:

If you are unfortunately having graphics issues we would love for you to give us your DXDIAG report as well so we can better understand your setup. Here are the steps to get the DXDIAG report and please attach your report to a reply on here:

If You Are Using Windows 95/98/ME/2000/XP:

Spoiler: show

@Thoran After looking at your previous post, it looks like your computer is using an Intel Graphics Chip with 256MB of VRAM memory. Unfortunately with those specs, I think that your computer may not be able to handle the graphics of Nitronic Rush. The game is using a lot of graphics memory to render the world with all the effects in it. My honest and humble advice is to either upgrade your computer or try and play it on a different computer with a better graphics card in it. I am truly sorry that I have to give you this advice and I really hope that you can play Nitronic Rush!

@Thoran There is a way of replacing the chip if you want to!

You can check out this helpful video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9x097QRXeA&feature=related to walk you through that process. I would recommend getting either an AMD/ATI or NVIDIA graphics card. I personally have only ever used AMD/ATI cards and I've never had any issues with them. I don't have any specific recommendations on the exact graphics card to get but make sure it has at least 512MB of dedicated VRAM on it.

You can look at the AMD/ATI options here http://www.amd.com/us/products/desktop/graphics/Pages/desktop-graphics.aspx

or

You can look at the NVIDIA options here http://www.nvidia.com/object/desktop.html
