My first customized track of this FREE survival arcade racing HIT!!!
It's a pretty basic design with a slight difficulty curve.

I wasn't going to publish this run(because it's not my best time)
But that wheelie @ the start was sublime!

http://youtu.be/Io3IyN1_cVU?hd=1

Track level/data is in the attached file
Here's how to add it:

enter_the_matrix_by_fzeroman.xml
level file (put in Nitronic Rush\levels)

levelimage_enter_the_matrix_by_fzeroman.dds
image file(put in Nitronic Rush\textures)

copy community string to
(Nitronic Rush\levelsets\7_Community.xml)
you can put the string @ the begining or after

<?xml version="1.0" ?>
<LevelSet name="Community" >
<String name="description">Levels created by members of the Nitronic Rush community.</String>
<Level name="Enter The Matrix (by Fzeroman)" >
<Boolean name="unlocked" value="1" />
<Integer name="sd_level" value="0" />
<String name="xml_file" >enter_the_matrix_by_fzeroman.xml</String>
<String name="img_file" >levelimage_enter_the_matrix_by_fzeroman.dds</String>
<Integer name="music" value="23" />
<Integer name="score_style" value="7" />
<Boolean name="wings_enabled" value="0" />
</Level>

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(any tips as to getting image files to a .dds?)
i keep getting a error, power by 2
even tho i change the resolution

I strongly suggest revising the tunnel entrance at 1:10 due to its similarity to a certain well-known image. (looks like hands gripping... um... a circle).

As for your image problems, what are the exact dimensions of the image, where is this error coming from, and what is the exact text of the error message?

Graphics cards really prefer images to have dimensions which are a power of two (1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024, ...). DDS files are intended to contain data that's almost directly consumable by the graphics card, and assuming that the input is power of two makes some of the calculations involved in the conversion a lot simpler, so your converter program probably just disallows non-power-of-two input.

Where will this DDS file be used? If, as I suspect, it's for the level preview image, you should crop the image to 1024x512 to match the others. Also, try Paint.NET for converting to DDS.

Really cool level, I love the creative use of green/black from the game. Some pretty elaborate designs overall using the glass and ramps to surround the track. My favorite part was probably the end "puzzle" where I didn't realize that I had to climb the side until I had explored for a while.

My biggest problems with the track were mostly related to the lack of contrast between different indicators, ramps, and some of the walls since everything was so green. I'd recommend simply changing some of the "direction indicator" ramps to maybe a blue or purple color (something complementary) to help it pop out a bit more and to even the overall tone of the track.

Otherwise, it was a really interesting use of art and a bunch of fun to play. I'd love to include this in the next update in the community levels, let me know if that's fine with you. Keep up the great work!

Whoa, awesome-looking level! Downloading right now. 8-)

Edit: Took advantage of the emptiness of the, ehm, rather empty online scoreboard. Hey, I left some space, though! :P
